Cavity Wall Insulation

Cavity wall insulation is a highly effective method for improving your home's energy efficiency, particularly suited for properties built between 1920 and 1990. These homes typically have a gap, or cavity, between the internal and external walls. Insulating this cavity is crucial for enhancing thermal performance and reducing energy bills.

How Does Cavity Wall Insulation Work?

The process involves filling the gap between your home's internal and external walls with a high-quality insulating material. This material acts as a barrier, preventing cold air from entering and warm air from escaping.

The main steps in the installation process include:

1. Assessment

A member of our professional teamwill conduct a thorough survey to determine if your walls are suitable for cavity insulation. They will check for issues like dampness or structural concerns.

3. Injecting Holes

The insulating material, usually mineral wool, polystyrene beads, or polyurethane foam, is injected into the cavity through the drilled holes. The material fills the entire space, providing an effective thermal barrier.

2. Drilling Holes

Small holes are drilled into the external walls at regular intervals to access the cavity.

4. Sealing Holes

Once the cavity is filled, the holes are sealed with cement, matching the original wall finish as closely as possible.
